All Change 2014
All Change Festival 2014
On the weekend of October 3rd, 4th and 5th, Firehouse Creative Productions held their second annual All Change Festival at the Lyric Hammersmith in London. We partnered with Bluespots Productions in Augsburg, Germany; Hallfridur Thora Tryggvadottir at Tjarnabio, Reykjavik UNESCO City of Literature in Reykjavik, Iceland; NEW NOISE in New Orleans, USA; and with Lucy Jackson and Lisa Szolovits at the Abrons Art Center in New York to present a simultaneous, multi-location festival. Activities included performances, music gigs, conversations, digital installations for people to interact with audiences and artists in other countries, and more.
We also partnered with FUN PALACES, a celebration of British theatrical revolutionary Joan Littlewood’s vision of creating cultural laboratories where anyone can activate their creativity through both artistic and scientific innovation. Fun Palaces is an initiative in which theatre companies, ensembles and venues all over the world come together with their communities to create pop-up events that celebrate local creativity in all its forms.
Joan Littlewood made it her mission to create outstanding theatre with and for marginalized communities. We want to continue her legacy of innovative performance that embraces everyone. We hope that our first All Change Fun Palace fostered the spirit of learning and adventure in all who passed through, and that its association with All Change created a global network for artists keen to push their boundaries.
All Change 2014 was created by Rachel Parish, Cristina Catalina, and Eve Leigh.
